- すねあて【臑当て・脛当て】(1)運動選手などが臑を保護するためにつける用具。(2)甲冑(カツチユウ)の付属品で臑に当てるもの。 鉄・革で作り， 古くは臑のみを守ったが， 南北朝頃から， 膝頭をおおう立挙(タテアゲ)をつけるようになった。
